The offer of international food, in London, is among the widest in the world and therefore it is not hard at all to come across Italian restaurants… but we Italians well know that not all the restaurants adorning themselves with such name are equal to it, and too often we are served bland surrogates of our rich Italian dishes.

It is then a pleasure, above all for the palate but also for the sight, to talk about a restaurant that can be considered not only a very good Italian restaurant in London but also a great restaurant tout court to be noted down for romantic or business dinners: The Grill, at the Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair.

At The Grill the Italian Culinary Week has just concluded, with the co-participation of the Executive Chef “resident” at the Brown’s Hotel Laurence Glayzera and of his counterpart Nazzareno Menghini from the Hotel de Russie in Rome – both hotels part of the Rocco Forte’s Hotels group – to prepare an Italian menu for the occasion, with a wide choice of starters, first dishes and second courses of meat and fish, prepared to wed the quality and freshness of products with the bursting of seasonal tastes, all coupled with a wide choice of wines. Without forgetting the delicious desserts…

It is particularly pleasant to notice that the staff, from the impeccable concierge to the kindest waiters, is mainly consisting of Italians. It also has to be highlighted the refined and quiet atmosphere, which allows to whisper sweet words to your better half or, why not, to conclude a good business deal, at the tinkling of two flûtes of champagne… or perhaps of Italian spumante? And if it is a romantic dinner there will always be the opportunity to have a look to the jewels by Buccellati: the shop is just inside the hotel.

The Italian Culinary Week may be over, but The Grill at the Brown’s Hotel will keep on serving refined and rich dishes of the Italian cuisine to all the enthusiasts of the Italian quality and style.
