Is it possible to spend a long weekend crossing the whole Italian peninsula? It is indeed, and with no need to move from London. The 8th March, until Sunday 11th, marked the return of La Dolce Vita, that is the all-Italian festival which has gathered under one roof – that of the Olympia London – fashion, fine food, design, entertainment and regional peculiarities of the Bel Paese.
The third edition of La Dolce Vita hosted more than 200 exhibitors and attracted once again thousands of people, reaffirming the values and qualities of Italy presenting them in an aura of luxury refinement.
Motors lorded it in avant-garde but elegant design, with the galleries dedicated to the latest models by FIAT and Alfa Romeo, and the organisation could boast the offer of very high quality products in the sector reserved for oenogastronomy and regional specialities, thanks to the presence of consortia, agritourisms and firms that are direct producers. To cooking was then paid particular attention with the organisation of masterclasses and demonstrations held by renowned Italian chefs – amongst whom Giorgio Locatelli and Aldo Zilli, who recreated their own restaurants inside the respective pavilions of the Olympia London.

An apposite space was prepared for entertainment: the Ferrarelle Entertainment Theatre saw a cast of very distinguished artists alternating on stage – from cartoonist Alvalenti to the band DeltaV, from actor Marco Gambino to Italian classes, from the young band Miccoli to the new music revelation La Differenza – with a programme that embraced a full spectacle.

If Italy is often synonymous of joviality and fine food, unfailing is the reference to fashion and style, here represented by brands that set the trends, by craftsmanship jewellery and the renowned Italian leather.
Numerous were also the stands dedicated to properties: if Italy is so much appreciated why not to buy a house there? Once again the offer concentrates on the characteristics of the singular regions and resorts, underlining the variegated particularities of the country.
To all the visitors was offered the event’s catalogue that, once the show has been concluded, still remains as an interesting guide to the Peninsula which crosses regions, oenogastronomy, tourism, fashion and design, exactly like La Dolce Vita. Because this is not just a simple day out, it is an experience that brings Italy to London and takes Italians back home for a few days.
